Charlie Eastwood’s potential has been showcased over recent years in the competitive ranks of international karting, single seater racing and more recently GT racing. Having emerged as one of Europe’s stand-out talents at a junior level, Charlie moved through the single seater ranks, dominated the Porsche Carrera Cup in 2018 and stepped up to the highest levels in GT racing in 2018 as he took in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the first time as well as the Blancpain Endurance Cup.
Sports car endurance racing is one of sports toughest competitive platforms, but like many world class racers before him, Charlie’s racing pedigree bodes well having proved himself to be a benchmark for his rivals.
Crowned ‘World Champion’ at the 2012 Rotax World Finals, Charlie’s major international karting title put his name on the map as a star of the future. The World Finals pitted him in his class against 72 of the world’s best emerging racers and he duly beat them all to become the youngest ever winner of the senior category aged just 17.
Further success followed in 2013, having been invited to compete in the prestigious Florida Winter Tour, Charlie won several rounds on his way to being named Tour Champion. He followed that up by going on to lift the Rotax Euromax Challenge ‘European Champion’ title to add to his burgeoning reputation.
In 2014 Charlie’s career turned to single-seaters as he competed in BRDC F4 with two podiums in his debut season. Early 2015 Charlie competed in the Toyota Racing series where he finished second in the New Zealand Grand Prix, Only one of two Grand Prix outside Formula 1. Later in the year he competed part season in Formula Renault Eurocup.
At the end of 2015 a career highlight was achieved. Up against 36 top Drivers through a gruelling selection process, Charlie came out victorious as Porsche Carrera Cup GB scholarship winner for 2016/17. His biggest car racing achievement soon followed as he was Rookie Champion in 2016 and overall ProChampion in 2017.
Now a BRDC Rising Star, Charlie then stepped to up complete in both the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup and the FIA World Endurance Championship. His Super Season debut at Spa Francorchamps in early 2018 saw Charlie and his TF Sport teammates claim a sensational second position, one that was repeated at Silverstone and Fuji.
